What we do and who it is for
Machine wiring installation for fixed production and workshop equipment from £X00 (site survey to confirm). Serving Medway and surrounding areas including Tonbridge, Medway, Malling and Sevenoaks. All work is supplied with a workmanship guarantee, full electrical certification and test records issued on completion.
Around Medway the housing we see most is dense Victorian terraces in Strood, Chatham and Gillingham, dockyard-era housing, large post-war estates and new-build on the riverside and at Rochester Riverside. That shapes the work we are called to: dense rental and HMO stock across five towns, landlord EICRs and fire alarms, riverside new-build snagging and EV chargers. Every job is priced in writing before we start, and the same NICEIC standards apply whether the property is a period terrace or a new-build flat.
Typical jobs
On larger sites in Beaumont Leys and along the Meridian Business Park we also repair cabling in 1980s warehouse units and modular office blocks.
- Conveyor integration between machinery and control equipment in warehouses at Meridian Business Park
Where we carry out alterations that affect distribution on premises in Leicester, for example larger factory units in Beaumont Leys or engine rooms in converted hosiery warehouses near Highfields, we verify earthing, bonding, fault protection and circuit capacity against the requirements that apply to those specific sites. Our documentation for Leicester properties can include circuit schedules, test certification, labels and records of any limitations found, helping you maintain a defensible compliance file for that exact address and neighbourhood.
What it costs
Machine wiring costs at our Medway premises vary with circuit capacity, isolation, control interfaces, containment and required testing/certification; we’ll provide a fixed written quote after a free survey so labour, materials, VAT, testing and certification are documented before work begins.
| Job | Price | What's included |
|---|---|---|
| Machine wiring installation | Quoted per job after a free survey | Parts, labour, testing, certificate, VAT |
| Fault finding | £80/hr | Investigation; most faults traced in 1–2 hours |
| Emergency attendance | £120/hr | First hour minimum, out-of-hours response |
| Commercial EICR | £30–£50 per circuit | Inspection and EICR documentation |
Not included: plaster repairs, decoration, asbestos removal, DNO supply-upgrade charges, scaffold or access equipment.
How the work is planned
Before installation, we survey the machine, its supply requirements, control interfaces, isolation arrangements and cable route, then document the proposed circuit design and testing scope. Our Site surveys identify available capacity, protective device coordination, earthing arrangements, access restrictions and hazards affecting safe installation. We confirm whether the machine needs a dedicated circuit, local isolator, emergency stop interface or connection to existing controls.
We plan containment and cable routes to protect conductors from mechanical damage, heat, moisture and moving equipment, while maintaining workable access for staff and maintenance. Where production must continue, we prepare Phasing plans around shutdown windows, deliveries and operational priorities. We’ll agree isolations in advance, identify who has authority to release equipment, and sequence tasks to limit downtime. Any unknown condition found on site is assessed before work proceeds.
Compliance and documentation
Compliance is incorporated into our installation process: we verify the work against the requirements of BS 7671, carry out the appropriate inspection and testing, and issue the relevant electrical certification when the circuit is safe to energise. We record circuit details, protective-device information, test results and any limitations, providing a clear compliance record for the machine installation.
There is no statutory fixed interval for periodic inspection of fixed wiring in general. IET Guidance Note 3 and other industry guidance recommend sample frequencies (for example, five years for offices and three years for industrial premises) based on risk and use, but these are advisory rather than statutory. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 place a duty on employers and those in control of work systems to maintain electrical systems so as to prevent danger; how that duty is discharged will depend on the circumstances. Insurers, landlords or licensing bodies may require a current report as a condition of a policy, tenancy or licence. We support record retention and certificate verification so your documents remain available for audits, maintenance planning and safety reviews.
Minimal disruption and out-of-hours working
To minimise disruption, we can plan machine wiring around production schedules, isolating only the affected equipment and keeping safe adjacent circuits in service where practicable. Through client coordination, we’ll agree access windows, permit requirements, lock-off procedures and responsible persons before work begins.
Where continuity is critical, we can programme phased shutdowns, complete containment and cable preparation first, then make final connections during agreed downtime. Out of hours working may reduce operational impact, subject to site access, supervision and safe working arrangements. We’ll apply noise minimisation measures where drilling, cutting or testing could affect nearby operations.
Before re-energisation, we’ll inspect, test and record results, confirm protective measures and update circuit identification. You’ll receive relevant certification and handover information, with any limitations or outstanding actions clearly documented.
Premises and sites around Medway
We issue the relevant electrical certificates for the completed and verified work in Medway and provide these to landlords, site managers or homeowners to support ongoing maintenance, periodic inspection and any future alterations.
